This is the place for ka paina (gathering place).
From small family gatherings to large corporate events—‘Imiloa is the place. Create an evening that might include a planetarium show plus dinner or a reception, or start the day with a breakfast meeting. You might even consider a large corporate event utilizing the entire facility. We also host weddings, birthday parties, anniversaries and reunions, proms and first-baby birthday.
Our capable staff and volunteers will provide aloha and the ready-support to make your event a success.
Our facilities include:
Moanahoku Hall
Our most versatile space for 60-180. Large projection screen, AV and sound included. Stage and tiered seating for program and performance set-ups, with dramatic lighting for a range of activities.
Classroom
Ideal for small group meetings. Up to 34 people classroom seating, 50 theater-style. Room has drop-down screen, ceiling-mounted projecter, and presentation table with built-in PC and laptop capability, document camera, and Internet access. Flipcharts and easels also available.
Sky Garden Restaurant
Ceiling to floor glass walls with panoramic view of ‘Imiloa's native plant landscaping and Hilo Bay. Capacity for 100 people, a popular spot for dinners and evening events. Available for exclusive rentals on Mondays when the Center is closed, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.
Planetarium
120 seats, full-dome planetarium system and 5.1 audio surround sound create a spectacular immersive audio-visual experience! Treat your guests to an exclusive planetarium show, or a PowerPoint presentation with impact. Available for show buyouts, evenings and Mondays when the Center is closed.
Technical Capabilities
Technical capabilities include Internet connectivity, LCD projectors, and Polycom VTC (video teleconference) capability. We also provide speaker's podium and some audio capability including lavalieres and hard-wired microphones.
