WAYFINDING TALK: Ka Waʻakaulua - The Hawaiian Sailing Canoe

Waʻakaulua is the Hawaiian word for double hull canoe. Captain Kiko is a sailor and experienced boat builder specializing in traditional Hawaiian canoes made by hand. He has spent his entire life on Hawaiʻi Island and is familiar with the many coastal bays and beaches that circle the island. Come listen to a talk that will inform you about the history, geology, customs, and traditions of the land and sea of Hawaiʻi Island.
